Modular Messaging: Frequently Asked Questions

Modular Messaging: Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is my password?

The original password for your Modular Messaging Voicemail account is simply the number 1. We do not keep a record of your password once you’ve changed it from the number 1 at the first login. For security reasons this is not allowed. If you’ve forgotten your password, please contact customer service at 8-4015 to have it reset.

2. What happens when my box is full?

You have the option to delete old messages or purchase more space. Pricing will be available by calling the customer service number at 8-4015.

3. What number do I call to check my voicemail?

The dial in number will be 8-5600 from on campus or 225-578-5600 from off campus.

4. I don’t like the way the system says my name, how can I change it?

There are two options for solving this problem, the first being to record your name in your own voice. Secondly, you can call customer service (8-4015) and work with a voicemail administrator to change the way the system pronounces your name.

5. Why is my Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on when I do not have any unread messages?

Call customer service (8-4015) and work with a voicemail administrator to change the system programming for that user’s coverage path. More than likely the path still points to the old voicemail system and needs to be updated.

6. How long does my new password need to be?

Modular Messaging password requirements are: At least 3 numeric digits in length and no ascending/descending consecutive numbers or repeated numbers such as (123/321/444).
